WOW!! 10 years of charity fundraising. We never thought our display would have grown so much and have been supported by so many people.

This was a milestone worth celebrating and over 14 months of work went into planning and building the 2022 display. We decided to do a large switch-on event with over 180 people in attendance. There were so many new businesses came on board with our existing supporters to support our larger switch-on event. Running the event definitely paid off as we raised almost £1000 in donations on opening night alone! We had a 25 minute lights to music show for our guests, complete with pyrotechnics (or as much as the weather allowed), snow machine and many festive snacks for guests to enjoy.

We introduced an LED screen which displayed the logos of our business supporters before the show started. During the lights to music show, the lyrics of the songs appeared in karaoke style for visitors to sing along to - this continued throughout the season. We also added four "singing faces". These "faces" have physical lights placed to form different mouth movements, which when programmed, appear to move in time with the words of the song. We also upgraded our candy canes spinners to pixel versions. 

We also introduced 6 more reindeer on to our sleigh and replicated a take-off effect reaching 21ft in the air - almost the same height as out mega tree.

We also introduced a ferris wheel to the arctic scene - we ran into a few snags - so it didn't turn as expected. We returned to the drawing board on that one but were able to get the ferris wheel lit up shortly after switch on.

We also want to publicly thank the many people who made the 2022 display (and especially, the switch-on event) what is was.
