We were encouraged by much better weather in 2024 which brought a positive boost to the number of visitors overall. Each new or returning visitor helps to drive our mission forward of sharing the real meaning of the season as far as possible and raising vital funds for Marie Curie.
We appreciate every single visitor.
Throughout the off-season we mainly focused on improving the installation method for the 9-reindeer sleigh set with the introduction of various pulleys. These pulleys helped to carry the weight load in a much more balanced way making the entire assembly so much easier to install in November. Our thanks must go to Sean from PSI Production for his help and expertise with this project.
We also were able to restore our church to its former glory with the use of an internal supporting frame. The church had been out of action in 2023 after being damaged in storage during the summer of that year. Check out some of the photos at the bottom of the page.

Perhaps the biggest project during the off-season was getting our Ferris Wheel to turn and have the characters in the seats still lighting up. We changed the characters over to battery power due to the massive complications of mains cables twisting and snagging when we tried to turn the wheel. Good progress was made on getting the wheel to turn too but some further tweaks are needed during the 2025 off-season period.
In the pixel section, we were able to bring back the popular "Control the Show" app which gives visitors the option to pick their favourite Christmas song and watch the lights 'dance' in time to that music - there are now at least 12 songs to choose from and we hope to bring this to 15 in 2025 (each song takes around 40 hours to programme). A massive thanks to Chris Wilkinson (our website designer) and James Vance (owner of the Remote Falcon base software) for all their hard work behind the scene to make this happen.
Still in the pixel section, we redesigned our LED screen that displays the names of all our sponsors, key display information and song lyrics so visitors could sing along to the musical display - one of the main benefits is that the new screen is much easier to store. We were delighted to see our previous LED screen go to a new home at Infinity Adventure Park where it will be used to promote their business for years to come.
And last, but not least - we did add a number of new acrylics to our Arctic scene - see if you can spot them below.
